Each day we will reveal our “tip of the day” regarding the #Winter20 release.
What’s new?
Hello report lovers! Today we will be talking about an interesting report feature: The Count Unique Values in Report Results (Beta).
So, imagine making a report that lists all existing contacts. Then you will certainly observe some of the contacts with the same account. With the Count Unique Values, you can count the number of distinct accounts in your report without making a “group by”. And without changing the report or the reporttype.
So how do you get the most of it?
First, you need to enable it: go to Setup → Reports and Dashboards Settings. Then select Enable Unique Row Count Aggregate in Reports (Lightning Experience Only)
Once done, you can go back to your report, and add as much Count Unique Values as needed. And those counts will show at the bottom of each column.
And in the same way, if you want to hide the ‘count unique value’, you can click ‘Hide Unique Count’.
For the moment, the showing value at the bottom is labeled simply ‘Unique’. It is also not possible to rename it.
Now, let’s see how it looks:
We love Count Unique Values!
Easy to use and very helpful! This new feature is a short and fast way to get counts on your report columns.
