Salesforce Trailhead

If like me you are a beginner and not an admin on Salesforce, you might also be wondering how to develop your skills on Salesforce. In fact, Salesforce offers many units and paths via Trailhead and when you’re starting out, it can be quite difficult to know where to start. This article aims at giving you some tips to guide you through your first steps.

Trailhead is a great way of getting to know Salesforce. It’s free, fun and you can choose your path according to your objectives and interests. You learn by earning “badges” that are obtained through various training paths “Trailmix”. Your Trailhead account provides you with an overview of units that have been selected for you on the basis of your activity on Trailhead. You’ll also find there the paths you’re currently exploring, along with the new badges available and weekly trends.

To start on Trailhead, create your account.

Then you can start with an introduction to the basics :

1. What is Salesforce ?

– Basics

1- Salesforce user Basics

2- Salesforce Platform Basics

– Salesforce platforms : Sales Cloud and Service Cloud

– Salesforce culture : agile basics and Ohana culture

2. How to use Trailhead ?

Get started with Trailhead

Trailhead Playground Management

3. What are the first Trailmix paths to complete in order to get an overview of Salesforce ?

Your paths are adapted to your objectives. You probably want to use Salesforce as a CRM, which means you will be interested in the main Salesforce objects :

Accounts and contacts (and for Lightning)

Leads and Opportunities

Chatter

To go further, you can look for the badges and Trailmix that are most relevant for you. You just need to search on this page !

Modules: dive into specific topics

Select Business User / Beginner and the product you want to gain knowledge on.

To get motivated, set yourself a personal goal : a given number of badges or Trailmix per week for instance. You may prefer to book half an hour a day or a weekly session. Personally, I chose half an hour every morning and do it with a colleague so that we can share our experience and discuss the badges that we think are the most relevant for us.

You can also start with webinars and videos. Here is the agenda .

To keep up to date, you can also check Salesforce events and Salesforce Youtube Channel.

Now you’re all set to explore the infinite possibilities on Salesforce !

Hope you had a good read! Tomorrow we’ll have a new article by Maher Ajamane. In the meantime, go to our blog Texei for more content.
